How these kits were selected
These are the first three in Best Spray Foam’s evidence-led order (Sep 7, 2026). The two publications share ownership. These are catalog options, not approval for a building or a whole-house insulation plan. Prices and customer ratings are dated observations and can change.

Start with a quote you can check.
No preset market rate. Your quote supplies the price; the calculator keeps its basis visible.
THE MATH BEHIND THE TOTAL
Area, depth and the quote unit.
Raw board feet = net square feet × thickness in inches. A square-foot quote prices net area; a board-foot quote prices raw volume. Add separately identified costs once.
For example, 120 sq ft at 3 inches is 360 board feet. A hypothetical $2.25 per board foot gives $810; $50 of separate extras makes $860. Those prices illustrate arithmetic, not today’s market rate.
Questions about the estimate
Is the displayed result a local contractor price?
No. The result uses the rate you enter. Local quotes vary with the actual scope, access, preparation, product system, work controls and required finish. Identify what your quoted rate includes before using the total.
What is the difference between a square-foot and a board-foot quote?
A square-foot rate prices area at the quoted thickness. A board-foot rate prices volume: net square feet multiplied by thickness in inches. Choose the unit printed on your quote; multiplying a square-foot price by thickness again would count depth twice.
Does the calculation tell me how many cans or kits to buy?
No. Raw board feet are geometric volume, not usable package yield. Exact product documentation, thickness, application conditions and field loss must be considered separately. This tool also does not choose an R-value, foam type or approved assembly.
